You’ve asked for it, you’ve begged for it, and now, all your prayers have been answered. The Iowa SharePoint UG (lovingly referred to as the IASPUG going forward) will be having its first meeting this month. I know you’re excited, so here are the important details:
When: Thursday February 16th, 2012, 4:00 – 5:30 PM
Where: Microsoft office at 1408 Locust Street, Des Moines
Fantastic web site: http://www.iowasharepoint.com
For our first meeting we’re going to talk a little about our goals for the group. Then John Baldwin from Pella Windows is going to talk about their SharePoint environment and experiences. Then I’m going to take the stage with a talk I call “SharePoint in the Trenches.” I’ll cover some of the more hysterical issues I’ve experienced as a consultant, and how you can avoid them. After we’re finished laughing at other people’s misery we’ll go home. There is a bar within walking distance of the office, so there might end up being a SharePint afterwards.
We’ll be updating the web site soon with some registration information, so you’ll be able to reserve a spot. While you’re waiting for the registration to go up, start planning your excuse for why you’ll be leaving work early in the 16th. Keep in mind that it is the cold and flu season, if you need help coming up with a reason to leave work.
If you have any questions or suggestions (besides “don’t’ let Todd speak”) leave a comment here, or hit me up on Twitter.
