SPTechCon October 2010 notes

Another SPTechCon done, and another rousing success. As always, I had a blast. I’ve had a couple of requests for the slide decks we used as well as some PowerShell files. In a dramatic departure from previous conferences, I actually followed through. Smile Hopefully this post will contain all the files people have asked for.

Slide Decks

W-5 SharePoint 2010 Admin for the Seasoned MOSS 2007 Administrator

204 Upgrading to SharePoint 2010 from SharePoint 2007 Parts 1 and 2

402 Taming SQL Server for Administrators

607 Administering SharePoint with PowerShell

707 Advanced Windows PowerShell for SharePoint 2010

PowerShell files

powershell boston

PowerShell_transcript.20101022110333

That should do it. If you need anything else, leave me a comment. Hopefully see you all in February in San Francisco.

Great sessions Todd, glad I could attend your workshop and the migration modules. I had a question regarding the GUIDs we had on the workshop.  I see when provisioning the Search Application Service that a search application pool in IIS is provisioned but its name is just a GUID. What is the best way to rename the app pool and or its recommended to do so. Thank you!

Mr

ou are mentioning the limitations of using Flash:

the biggest problems for me with the CoolIris solution is that people working at a company with IT lockdown of workstations, makes it hard for them to access the display using Flash 9.1+. Anyone with an earlier version of Flash will be asked to upgraded, and that’s not going to happen without an IT request.
